CLUTCH THROWOUT BEARING
$254.65 inc. GST
Description
Genuine Fichtel & Sachs clutch throwout bearing to suit 2002 4-speed transmissions with cylindrical slave cylinder that’s retained with 2 circlips. There are two different throwout bearings depending on which flywheel you have (216mm or 228mm clutch). The correct throwout bearing must be used in order to maintain correct clutch operation.
- 216mm clutch uses a throwout bearing that’s approx 41mm from the thrust face to the release fork face
- 228mm clutch uses a throwout bearing that’s approx 47mm from the thrust face to the release fork face
As a general rule, round tail light 2002s were fitted with the 228mm clutch, and square tail light 2002s were witted with the 216mm clutch. All Tiis were fitted with the 228mm clutch. Many cars have had replacement engines, flywheels and gearboxes, so this isn’t an accurate method to determine which flywheel you have.
Note: E21 and E30 gearboxes, which use a slave cylinder that’s mounted on 2 studs, have a different release fork arrangement, and use a different throwout bearing altogether.
